How to select a suitable centrifuge

Release time:2020/5/29 13:30:57 Reading times:1407

If users want to select a suitable centrifuge to separate materials base on the using places, properties of materials, and any other specific factor, they must pay attention to three important problems as below.

    1. Property of Anti-Corrosion: Usually the materials which feed into the centrifuges are all corrosive, so all the parts that coming into contact with the materials must have high requirements to be anti-corrosive, to make the using process safe. The material’s type of machinical parts (304, 321, 316L stainless steel, or titanium), gasket rings, gland packings, surface treatment (lining plastic, lining rubber, or paint on the surface), and the filter stuff’s material, all should be confirmed when users selecting centrifuges.

    2. Property of Anti-Explosion: If there are organic solvent or some other flammable and explosive matters within the material (or environment) that be fed into centrifuges, the centrifuges must be anti-explosive. The property of anti-explosion should depend on the the anti-explosive requirements of the producing technologies and process. Years ago, when users had anti-explosive requirements, they only required anti-explosive motor. But recently, most of them required for nitrogen protection, to deal with the occasion within organic solvent. Actually, there will be taken a lot measures on mechanical design, electrical controlling, and attachments, to achieve anti-explosive centrifuges in the real sense.
Such as: Electrical controlling syetem: anti-explosive isolated gate, non-contact dynamic breaking system, electrostatic grounding, and auto-controlling of anti-explosion.
Mechanical system: anti-explosive motor, anti-explosive lump,

      3. The separating property is the basical property, including the separating effect, washing effect, processing capacity, and automatical extent, etc. When users begin to select a centrifuge, they can not confirm the final separating effect, for the differences of materials’ features, including the viscosity, fineness, density, and the solid to liquid ratio of slurry. So they often judge the separating effect by the separating factor.
The separating factor accords to the speed and diameter of bowl, and is proportional to the square with the angular velocity of bowl. In the formula: F t =ωr 2 / g,  F t  is the separating factor, ω is the angular velocity as known as r / s, ris the diameter of bowl, and g is the gravitational acceleration; The washig that mentioned here means the sluicing of filter cake, for some materials should be washed by the sluicing liquids, a few of them even required to be washed many times. So that need to be allocated a sluicing pipe. The time and effect of washing are influenced a lot by the hole diameter, position, and form of structure of the sluicing pipe.
The processing capacity of centrifuges accorded to the physicochemical properties and separating requirements of materials, usually it was estimated by the cycle counts in one hour and the weight of filter cake in every single run.
